Clare Dempsey made this fabulous page to celebrate a niece's wedding using Art Glitter and Dreamweaver products to capture the beauty of Autumn!  Clare started by using the Dreamweaver Leaf Texture template with Dreamweaver Embossing paste.  To get the ombre look she mixed the Gold embossing past with the Amber Glow Metallic Fix and spread it over roughly half of the leaf stencil. She then mixed the Gold embossing paste with the Kimono Red Metallic fix and spread this over the half of the stencil not yet filled.  Once the stencil was filled she sprinkled the Ivy Garden powder ONLY on the right half of the stencil (Clare says to be sure to do this while paste is still wet!) and allowed this to dry overnight.  In the morning, Clare used a Swiffer cloth to buff off the excess green metallic paste.  Clare then trimmed the card stock and cut the piece in half to make a border strip.  By slipping the border strip under the circular die cut, no one can see that Clare had some missing leaves on the border strip and that it has a seam!

Clare created the oak leaf and acorn circle die cut using the Cricut Craft Room software to weld a circle from George, Basic Shapes and Art Nouveau.  She hand cut the white mat. Clare used the Dreamweaver template and some ink with a sponge dauber.

For the Autumn title Clare used the Dreamweaver double sided mounting paper and cut the frame with the Cricut.  To make the application of the Art Glitter neat and accurate, Clare set the blade depth to a 3 and cut ONLY the inside line of the ribbon frame.  She then set the blade depth back to a 6 and cut the outside layer of the frame all the way through the double sided mounting tape.  Clare carefully pealed up the outside top layer ONLY and applied the Art Glitter with a fine tipped dry brush (see photo below).  Maybe it is the painter in Clare, but she likes the control a brush gives her when applying the glitter.  She says to use a dry brush and to clean the brush off between colors on some scrap fabric. See how Clare also soaped up the back of the Dreamweaver template and taped it in place before removing the center portion?

Clare flipped down the template and painted the word Autumn in Art Glitter.  She carefully cleaned off excess glitter on the template, her hands and her work station and then flipped up the template to apply the white glitter.  For the bottom portion of the title "Wedding", Clare cut the title using the Dreamweaver double sided mounting paper, a heavy duty blade, and the Cricut CTMH Artiste Cartridge.  She used the dry paint brush technique for applying the different colors again.  She then matted it on white paper and hand cut the offset white area.

1st Communion Page

Every Fall I go MIA on the blog while I work on projects for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team Call.  They have just published the semi finalists here and I didn't make the team.  The good news is, I can share my projects on my blog anyway!  It is often difficult to find products for a 1st Communion page, or card and I love the Heartfelt Creations has some faith based stamps and dies! They are perfect for baptisms, baby dedications, 1st Communions, Confirmations, Weddings etc.

Stamp Organization

One of my favorite brands is Heartfelt Creations and today I am sharing how I organize my stash of Heartfelt Creation Stamps.  The stamps come in plastic packages (photo below) and I prefer a more structured package for organizing.
So I remove the plastic sleeve and the wax paper backing on the cling side of the stamp and place them in CD holders.  I use the Heartfelt Creations paper label in the CD Case to let me know what's in the CD case and place them all in my storage from Michael's.  Now I just need to get some more CD cases to file the matching Heartfelt Creations Dies with my stamps!  For those, I will cut a strip of magnetic paper and place it inside the CD holder with the matching dies and stamps in the slot in front.

I first found Heartfelt Creations an a local Scrapbook Expo, and loved their products!  I love using their stamps and dies to make my own embellishments and to set my pages apart from the sticker scrapbook page!  Below you can see a page I made with one of my favorite HC dies.  It is actually a window that I cut apart to make a shamrock.    Be sure to check out Heartfelt Creations for their beautiful stamps
and matching dies!

This month Art Glitter is teaming up with Dreamweaver Stencils.  And Clare was so excited to get their stencils and embossing paste in the mail! Clare was sent an owl stencil and fall leaves that I thought would be fabulous for a birthday card.   Art Gllitter is offering 20% off retail for $25 purchase is good with the code DW20 at their online store.
Clare used the Dreamweaver stencils first as she knew they would need to dry overnight.  This was Clare's first experience with embossing gel and she watched video by Kristi Parker Van Doren on Youtube here.  Before you get started spreading the embossing paste, be sure to tape one side of the stencil to your card stock or project using removable tape.  Note how Kristi angles the spreader before dragging the spreader?  Clare used the Dreamweaver Leaf Texture Stencil with Metallic Gold Embossing Paste and the same tools Kristi did:  palette knife and spreader.   Once you have removed excess embossing paste, carefully lift the stencil, leaving the tape as a hinge.  Then remove the tape and stencil.  By pivoting the stencil along the tape hinge, you are less likely to smudge your paste.  Clare made two embossed fall leaves rectangles to cover the Dreamweaver card front, and allowed this to dry overnight and then cut it to card.  To cover the seam where the two pieces joined, Clare added a ribbon.
For the flower, Clare used a paper flower with Art Glitter's Designer Dries Clear glue and the fabulous Elements called bark.  Clare loves these Elements of the rough and tumble, outdoor and masculine projects!
For the inside owl motif.  Clare used the Dreamweaver Owl stencil and the great fall colors from Art Glitter!  She got instructions on how to do this using another Youtube video by Wendy Jordan here.  If you don't have the Dreamweaver soap you can use Burt's Bees soap.  Notice you don't have to tape this down!  In fact if you do the double sided sticky paper won't pick up the glitter.  Clare actually covered up small sections of the owl stencil with stencil tape to keep areas within the stencil in one color only.  For example, the beak is yellow only, so Clare covered up everything but the leave beak and talons and then applied the Art Glitter Bananan glitter with a fine art paint brush.  Be sure to clean off the top of the stencil like the video shows with a Swiffer cloth or duster and clean off your hands before you remove the stencil as well!

Stamps Storage Finished with Cricut and Vinyl

I love a challenge that allows me to finish an item on my do to list!  So this week I am jumping in and trying the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge  177:  Vinyl Cricut Crawl.  And the item on my to do list was to label my last CTMH stamp storage box.  Now, I know that CTMH actually has a bigger box available to store my stamps, but these older boxes are just the right size for my craft room shelf.  I just made the label for the Journal stamp box using CM Holiday Frames and Tags, CM Reminisce Accents and Graphically Speaking.  I printed the green on my Cricut Imagine on white vinyl and used a RVG code for the official Cricut green color.  I am most fond of my CTMH Cricut stamp storage box because they are my favorite products and now I can use them together!

Some of my other boxes are for flower stamps, miscellaneous, seasonal stamps and sewing stamps.  And I chose green because of my love of all things Cricut and blue because it is my favorite color.

Masculine Happy Birthday

I often struggle with birthday cards for the men in my life and today I decided to look at my carts and stamps again for a masculine card.  Here is my solution:  Sign made with triangle from Cricut Pretty Pennants, safety horse is from Cricut Dude cart, Caution is CCR basic shape alphabet.  The celebrate and happy birthday are CTMH Expression Postage stamp set.  So, I am jumping in on Mandy Leahy's Card a Day Challenge today and today's challenge is a birthday card.   Paper is DCWV, and the little "a" is Basic Grey.

December Daily for the French Fry Box Challenge

I absolutely could not get over Jayne's French Fry box at the BBTB2 challenge blog this week!  So beautiful and festive!  So, I had to try the French Fry box challenge and I wanted a little holiday goodness too!  So, I thought I would make my French Fry box for this years December Daily.  I used my Imagine and Snow Angel and even printed out a few pages.  The title is made with Cricut Fancy Frames, CM Cricut Holiday Tags and Boxes (December font).
For the pages with the Imagine, I used Elegant Edges Oblong Frames to make the borders.
I loved making this December Daily project and had a lot of scraps in the stash to make quick pages that matched!   I can't seem to add the photos of Jayne's box but you can find photos at the BBTB2 Challlenge here.

September Card-A-Day Challenge with Mandy

Okay, I guess I am up for another day's challenge with Mandy Leahy's Card-A-Day challenge.  Today's challenge is make it red.  I used CTMH stamps from the Cricut Artiste and Art Philosophy and an older set called Sensational seals for the circular sentiment and lips.  The ink is Cranberry and I used a second generation on the striped label.

Lessons from Mom Card & 2 Challenge Cards

I have been struggling with rejection while job hunting lately and rejection in my crafty life.  Not all of my craft goals are happening (for example, I would love to have a page or project published).   But I am an optimist and wondered what I could do to make these emotional responses go away? And then I remembered a lesson from Mom's Connected (a local Mom's group), if you want a friend be a friend. If I want approval, I am gonna share approval!  So, it got me thinking, who in my life needs to know they are valued and loved and admired?  I know my sisters!
Several years ago I sent them all a card that said I admired how they were like our Mother.  For each sister the front said I admire how you are just like Mom.  We had lost our Mom at a young age and miss her so!  She was a woman we all admired and hope to be like.  Inside, I listed different qualities each sister had that I admired in them and our Mom.  I think it might be time for another round of cards!  For my oldest sister I admire that she does NOT gossip, she doesn't tell me how to live my life (unless I ask), she is smart, a great Mother, a hard worker, sharp dresser, etc.
I started with the scalloped motif from Cricut Creative Memories Holiday Frames and Tags and cut in The Robin's Nest Kiwi Glitter Sorbet Card stock.  The honeycomb print and the little blue check in the "You" label are both made with Cricut Imagine Yummy. The "You" is actually part of Cricut Creative Memories Divine Wedding cartridge, I just hid the words "It had to be" above"you" and replaced it with" I admire" from the Cricut Calligraphy cart.  The admire and you are printed ONLY.  I love using the Imagine for a multiple project like this, I have six sisters and will make a card for each.  By using the Imagine, I know I will always have enough of the right patterned card stock and by using the Cricut Craft room I can cut them all at once!
Inside the card I used a CTMH stamp that says, "Let me count the ways"  then I used a bulleted list stamp set from Anna Griffin.  The I love you is an old Angel Company stamp set.  A bit of micro pom pom trim and a bow and the card is finished.

Well, if you are feeling needed today, think if how you can send out some good Karma and maybe some good Karma will come back!  I am going to jump in and try Mandy Leahy's card a day for the month of September and hope she will allow me to post two today to make up for missing yesterday's challenge:  Use a banner.  I used a banner in the I love you in the card above!
And for today's challenge, I had to emboss the card.  She doesn't say if I should use heat embossing or dry embossing, so I used an embossing plate and am also entering it into the Fantabulous Cricut Monday Challenge this week:  Name that Tune.  Use a music theme.  I used Lacy Labels for the red swirl and a music themed Cuttlebug embossing plate behind it.  The label is CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy for the striped portion and SU for the Happy Birthday.  Papers are CTMH and the butterfly was from Want2Scrap.  Rock is from Hannah Montana and You is from Sophisticated.  I welded the You, Rock and frame in CCR and then cut the You and Rock in white and layered them.
