20 Years of Love

My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, so I thought it called for a special page, made with special touches.  To get those special touches I used papers and embellishments from The Robin's Nest and Plaid's Modge Podge Photo Transfer Medium.

Be sure to start your photo transfer project a day before you want to scrap!  I used some cotton duck canvas I had in the house and copied a photo from our wedding in black and white. The directions on the package are so simple, it just needs 24 hours to dry!  Once I removed the paper from the original copy, I frayed the edges of the canvas by pulling some thread.

To make the page, I started with black card stock as a base.  For my heart, I started with two Silhouette files, the first one, is used for the placement of The Robin's Nest Tear Drops and Dew Drops.  I cut the file on some scrap paper and set it aside.  I then cut the Heart with the scalloped edges, and place it on a light box with the placement heart cut out behind it.  See the picture below.  Since the tear drops were bigger than the circles in the Silhouette file, I just used every other circle for placement.  I also added tear drops and dew drops to the scalloped edge of the heart.  The Robin's Nest is running a special on their Tear Drops this month:  20% off!  Find the tear drops HERE.  NO need for a coupon, you will see they are already marked down!  Be sure to count out your tear drops and dew drops ahead of time to make sure you have enough for a big project like this.  I love the 3 dimensional doily look I get with this heart!  It is so pretty!  Under the heart I cut a band of The Robin's Nest Glitter Viva France paper and colored it a bit with my Copic Markers so, the pink had some red to match the tear drops and dew drops.  This a great tip for using pretty paper in the stash that is not the perfect color:  just kick it up a notch with markers, ink or chalk!  Over that band of paper I glued an organza ribbon.  I created the flower by stamping on The Robin's Nest Shocking Pink Glitter Sorbet paper and then punched it out.  To pull it all together I high lighted it with the same red markers used on the Viva la France paper and used more tear drops in the center of the flower.
The small flower has a center made with the same Shocking Pink Glitter Sorbet paper, Copic Markers and Epiphany Crafts circle embellishment.  I used Copics along the edges of the petals as well.
