Finish It Friday: Organizing My CTMH

One of my school year goals is to finish some un-finished projects.  Organizing my Close to My Heart Stamps is one of those projects.  I want all of my CTMH stamps that match my Cricut Carts in a separate box.  So, used my Imagine and CCR to print and cut this label for a CTMH storage box.  The file was created with George Basic Shapes and free CCR files.  Now if I can just find time to play with my new CTMH Cricut Cart!

Work the Stash Wednesday with SU

Today I am sharing a quick and simple card I made for work the stash Wednesday.  I used some DCWV paper, ribbon, a Stampin' Up stamp (don't know the name as I got it at a garage sale.    And inside I used a sentiment from Our Daily Bread that says, "Praying you'll feel better soon!"  I will send this with a home made meal for a friend.  So, use your Wednesdays to use up scraps and pull out those older stamps to make something beautiful!

Minty Fresh Doily

One of the things I love about a Moxie Fab Challenge is how it helps me use things in my stash.  I am an impulse craft shopper and often buy things because I love them with (gasp) no project in mind.  So, when I saw the Moxie Fab World Minty Fresh Challenge, I knew exactly what piece I wanted to use...a mint doily! I got this garage saling for $0.50, well within my supply budget!

Below is one of the MFW inspiration photos I love!  Such a lovely lacy look!

My Favorite Technique Show: Terri Sproul

Since it's it's Tuesday and so many blogs share tips and techniques on Tuesday, I thought I might share my favorite place to learn new techniques:  Terri Sproul's Linqto show on Monday nights!  Here's why it is my favorite:
1)  I am a visual learner, so I love a video demo!
2)  It's live and I love being able to ask Terri questions as she demos new techniques.  While I can find many techniques on Youtube, getting questions answered is not always possible or timely!
3)  A taped version is available if I miss the live show.
4)  There is almost always a coupon and a giveaway to attendees!  You know I love a giveaway and coupons!
5)  There are tips from many of the attendees as well as Terri!  I find out more how to's, where to get great deals, and new things at every show!
6)  I love Terri's work and ideas!  She has had so many fabulous projects that I want to scraplift!
Today I am sharing a picture of a new technique I learned from one of Terri's shows:  How to get glitter in my embossed items.  You mix half glitter and half embossing powder.  Then apply as you would any embossing powder and heat.  For this project, I used Art Glitter, Embossing powder and an embossing folder to get this look.
Sometimes the link to the show does not work if you use it within Facebook.  So, go to the Terri Sproul App and then you can get to her live show.  Also, all her older shows are recorded so check them out at the Terri Sproul App.

Teen Birthday Card

I often struggle to find products appropriate for the teenager's birthday card.  So, here is my solution...convert a photo using SCAL2 and then use markers to draw it. Stamps are CTMH and Cricut Cartridge is CTMH Art Philosophy.  Can you guess who this is?

Oh, Moxie Fab World, you are once again inspiring me!  I saw the Autumn Awaits Tuesday Trigger and saw vintage glam (2nd photo).  If only I had the confidence to pull off a scarf like this!  My Mother would have and she would have looked fabulous!  So, I converted a photo to a cut with SCAL2 and then used it with some fabulous SEI paper!  I added a few fashion findings and my sentiment and I'm done! Thanks again Moxie Fab World!  Inside I am using a sentiment that says "From one fashionista to another."

Thanks Moxie Fab World, Studio Calico and Carta Bella!

If you follow my blog you might have noticed my Moxie Fab World obsession.  Well it's paying off:  I won the random winner for the Tuesday Trigger.  I just got my prize package and it included beautiful items from Carta Bella, and Studio Callico,  I have made a thank you note pictured above and the supply list is below.  To get the watercolor effect with the Copic Markers, I colored with my R0000 first, then ran the R59 along the edges.  Just hold it still a bit longer for more color.

Along with the Carta Bella Paper shown above, I am sharing photos of some of my favorite things in the prize package.  I love the little wooden states and am looking forward to using them in my children's mini vacation album!  The paper clip tabs are so sweet and I'm loving the little notebook.  Gonna embellish this for my own handbag!  Thanks again Moxie Fab World, Carta Bella and Studio Callico!

Supply List
Carta Bella Beautiful Moments 6 x 6 Paper
Button
Paper Flower
Close To My Heart Stamps
Copic R0000, R59

Any Early Start on Christmas Gifts

Every year my sisters and I have a $5.00 gift exchange.  It has become a challenge to see who can get the best gift for the money.  I understand that my sisters asked to open my gifts 1st last year.  I almost always make my gifts and this year is no exception.  We have just lost our Father, so I knew I wanted to make something special for my sisters to help them remember.
I started by running the Globecraft ornament top layer through my embossing machine using a swirl folder.  I then mixed silver embossing powder with silver Art Glitter and heat embossed all the ornament pieces.  To get the red background, I used my Copic makers.  Did you know you can color your embossed images?  How fabulous!
The lace in the middle is left over from my wedding dress.  I colored it with my Copics as well so that it was not white.  I added a vintage photo of Dad.  All of the embellishments on the ornament are Epiphany Crafts.  I love the little charm in the middle of the ornament that says Dad (see 2nd photo)!  And these findings are just the perfect touch to make this a special ornament!

Sweet Summer Birthday Card

I am often making boy birthday cards, but today I am sharing a girl birthday card.  I used The Play Date Cafe's latest color challenge for my inspiration.   I had to use Pink Carnation, Orange Sherbet, and Lemonade.  I started with a My Favorite Things Die-Namic called High Tea Doily and added a cut from A Child's Year.  To get just the right pink I googled RGB code for Pink Carnation.  The flowers have been in the stash for so long I am not sure who made them, maybe Queen and Co.  The glitter is Art Glitter and Stampin Up.  A bit of ribbon and I stamped Happy Birthday inside.
