FCC Challenge 121 Wedding Card

I had so much fun with the coffee filter ruffles that I thought I would try it on a dress!  I also needed a  wedding card!  So I am entering this into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge 121.  I used the Creative Memories Divine Wedding Cartridge and the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cart.  The stamp is also CTMH and the flowers too!
I can't remember the cart I used for the flower as I made it long ago an it was in the flower stash!

Coffee Filter Circular Ruffles

Have you seen some of the beautiful projects people are making with coffee filters, markers and stamps?  Well it has me thinking of my coffee filters as another one of my supplies.  So, when I saw the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Sweet World, I pulled out my coffee filters and put them to use.

I used my Creative Memories Circle cutting tool and cut a circle in the center of the filter.  I then clipped into the center to make a "C" shape.  To get the ruffle effect, I sewed the coffee filter to my paper along the inside circle edge.  This creates an automatic ruffle.  Now, if you don't sew, you could use some terrifically tacky tape to get this look too!  To complete this card I used three coffee filters and made two rows of ruffles per coffee filter.  I then made a little banner with a heart punch, scraps of paper, crochet thread and some stickers I have had in my stash forever!  So, simple really and the results are so pretty!

Sorry I have been missing in action from blogging as my Father recently passed away.  Now I hope to get back to crafting as I have many thank you's to write and a few sympathy cards as well.  Thanks for visiting after my absence!

Saving A Black T-shirt From Bleach Stains

It has been difficult to find time to scrapbook with my boys home for the summer, but I am still doing a bit of crafting.  Today I am sharing how I saved one of my favorite black t-shirts after I ran into some bleach in the laundry room.  You can see in the top photo my finished flower, and the second photo is my before photo.  The bleach turned portions of the t-shirt brown.
To save this shirt, I ran a basting stitch down the center of some black and white gingham ribbon and then stitched it down to the shirt in a rose pattern.  So, quick and simple and I saved my shirt from the pajama pile!

Two Tips for Tuesday

Today I am sharing two tips for Tuesday:  recycle stained clothing and customize white embellishments to match your page!  So, let's get started?  What do you do with your stained clothing?  Well, I loved this Iscaac Mizrahi blouse, but spilled coffee on it and missed treating it when it was washed.  So, rather than discard the blouse with the pretty ruffle, I cut it off and added it to a scrapbook page.  To finish the raw edges, I ran it through my serger.

I also used Terri Sproul Mixers to customize some white embellishments to match.  Everyone is coloring their rhinestones and pearls with Copic markers, but there are some surfaces where they don't work well.  So, I used Terri Sproul mixers to make a cream ribbon rose a pink ribbon rose.  I also, had a  glitter embellishment that I used Terri's mixers on and I love that I have multiple textures with the same shade of pink!
