Pastel Pretties at Moxie: This Week's Tuesday Trigger

The inspiration photo at Moxie Fab World was fabulous once again, so I'm making up a card for this week's Tuesday Trigger:  Pastel Pretties.  I just used a few scraps from The Robin's Nest, Basic Grey, Doodlebug Designs, Cricut Imagine and more and created a SCAL2 file with a bunch of eggs.  The stamp is by Pink by Design and I just stamped half at a time, so that is was an oval instead of a circle.

Easter Fill in The Blanks

I am always amazed by the Easter story and think this holiday and it's memories deserve a special page.  So, I started with special paper, special embellishments and a Cricut cut to make this Easter page.  I cut the circular widow with the Paper Lace Cartridge in black card stock.  I used The Robin's Nest Crackle Glitter Card stock in Orange, Blue and Pink and a bit of purple card stock to for the window panes.  To get the stain glassed look I used, liquid glass on top of the Crackle Glitter Card stock and put a few Neon Dew Drops on the window panes.  Here's a tip for cutting all those colored window panes:  cut circles and place behind the window panes.  You will need to notch how the pink and blue circles to show the purple and orange details, but this is so quick and easy compared to cutting each window pane!

The title is made with the Stampin' Up banner punch, Close to My Heart Egg stamps and white letters from The Robin's Nest.  I used mini Neon dew drops between the banner pennants.  For the bottom corner detail, I used a Stampin' Up stamp,  the Epiphany Crafts flower punch with matching bubble caps.  And I used their Flower 25 punch and matching Clear Flower Shape Bubbles.
I originally had only one banner, but thought the page too empty.  So, I added a second banner in a smaller scale using a Martha Stewart punch.  I cut each scalloped circle in half and strung them together.  Here is my before photo.
I also wanted to fill the blank space in the bottom left hand corner.  So, I stamped a swirl and added flowers.  To create the flowers at the bottom right of the photo mat.  For the center of the flowers, I used The Robin's Nest Neon Mini Dew Drops.  I love these mini dew drops for flower centers!  I fussy cut The Glitter Leaf card stock for the green leaves.

School Pages

I was so excited to have a chance to attend the S.C.R.A.P. Guild of Northern IL's Creative "U" crop again this year!  I worked on my boys' school albums and am entering this one into the CASE Study challenge 133.  I loved the muse's use of colors and used the same.   Since I don't hang their portraits on the wall, I make sure to scrap book them and always use photo corners.  I never use glue, so that they can choose to frame them at some future date of they like.

Here is the Kindergarten page.  I must confess that I have had the paper in the stash for so long, I don't remember the vendor.  The alphabet cut is from Cricut's Graphically Speaking cartridge.  The scalloped square is Mini Monograms.  Notice I used the scrap from the scalloped square on the first page to tie the pages together.  So, quick and easy and I am happy with the results!

Moxie Monday

Whenever Moxie Fab World had a challenge that includes ruffles, I can't resist giving it a try.  I loved this week's Tuesday Trigger challenge called Elegant Emerald.  Maybe it is the fashion designer in me, that recognizes that all those glorious ruffles are cut with a circular ruffle.  I love the color and the touches of gold, so I used this weeks Tuesday Trigger to work up a sympathy card I needed.  Below is the Moxie Fab World inspiration photo.  Notice I pulled out the butterfly on the model's eye and made it a feature in my card.  I cut the ruffles by cutting circles with my Creative Memories cutters with a center circle cut in the middle.  This leaves an O shape about an inch wide.  I clipped into the center and ran terrifically tacky tape along the inside circle.  I then placed the tape along a straight line on the card, and a ruffle is formed.

Happy St. Patrick's Day: Heritage Page

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I thought I would share another heritage page I made.  And yes, Roach is a family name!  Since the Roach family came from Ireland, I have once again used a shamrock.  I have found so few St. Patrick's Day products that I have made my own shamrocks.  This one is made with Heartfelt Creations Decorative Widow Scene die (see the photo below).  I love this die and use it for lots more than windows!  I have made a larger frame for a scrapbook page made with four of the windows cut apart and you can see that post here.

I cut two window shapes and then cut them apart and formed the four leaf clover.  I cut a fourth window and made the stem.  For the back ground of the shamrock, I stamped Heartfelt Creations Elegant Word Background.  To embellish the shamrock, I stamped   the Heartfelt Creations Posies on velum (allowed to dry over night) and then glued orange Gala Glitz in the center of the flower.  This is so pretty and a picture just does not do it justice.

When I saw The Robin's Nest Crackle Paper line, I knew it would be perfect for scrapping all those musicals and plays!  It's so important to celebrate our children's accomplishments on stage, and sometimes you need a special paper for a special show.  So, I used the Purple Glitter Crackle to scrap book Jesus Christ Superstar.  I started by Googling images of Jesus Christ Superstar and converted a jpg of the title and the angels using SCAL2.  The Robin's Nest is offering 20% off of all their Crackle Glitter Card Stock and Neon Mini Dew Drops.  No coupon needed just chose your item and check out!

The Robin's Nest is also teaming up with Epiphany Crafts this month.  And I used their Flower 25 punch and matching Clear Flower Shape Bubbles.  To create the flowers at the bottom right of the photo mat.  For the center of the flowers, I used The Robin's Nest Neon Mini Dew Drops.  I love these mini dew drops for flower centers!  I fussy cut The Glitter Leaf card stock for the green leaves.  I thought the bright colors were perfect for the page and the subject!

St. Patrick's Day 50th Birthday Card

I so loved that shamrock doily cut that I had to use it in my brother's birthday card.  Can't believe he is 50 years old!  I used mls and DCWV stickers.  Cut is created with Damask Decor, and George Basic Shapes. 50 is created with my SCAL2 and the scalloped circle behind is Art Philosophy.  Be sure to use a heavy duty blade with your presure on high in your Cricut when cutting glitter card stock!  If you are cutting The Robin's Nest Glitter chipboard, be sure to multi cut on 2!
