Two for Tuesday: A Card and Treat Box

Been busy working on items for my son's Birthday Party! This year, I am determined to have the thank you cards made before the party! He chose to have a "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" themed party. He is a great reader and has read every book in the series. So, when he saw the movie was coming out, he decided on the party theme. I made invites using my Adobe Photoshop and changed the Movie Ad to read "Collin's Party Coming Soon". While visiting annasart blog, I found the perfect idea for the treat boxes. Thanks for the inspiration Ingrid! I have made a treat box using a cut card file from Denise, for the top and my SVG backpack cut file (base only). See this post for my treat box cut file. While you probably won't make owl treat bags, you can think about using this back pack base cut file with any of your card cut files that fold at the top. Just glue the back of your card to the back of the box base and use hook and loop sticky dots to close your top of the card to the front of the box (see photo below).

I then made my Thank you cards with the Stampin Up Owl Punch and my Sizzix Harlequin plate. If you need a Stampin Up consultant, let me know and I can put you in touch with mine. Paper is Cloud Nine Design for card base and treat bag base. Stamps are Close to My Heart Now if I can just find some owl themed candy, tattoos and goodie bag items I will be all set! Wish I had an owl cookie cutter too!
And for those of you who are interested, here is a quick and easy card I made with my flower cut file from the last post.

  1. I am so excited, I found some binoculars at the dollars store for the treat bags! I'll be filling the treat bag with the binoculars, bird seed, and candy to go with the theme.
